How Setup Wizards Differ from NT Setup Wizards
In order to get a grasp on how Small Business Server Setup
Wizards work, let's first Small Business Server Setup Wizards to conventional
Windows NT Server Setup Wizards and other traditional NT Server tools.

The Small Business Server 4.5 setup also delivered greater
flexibility in selecting and confirming the configuration of modems,
network cards, video adapters, and drive controllers.
Small Business Server 4.5 administration is essentially
built on the foundation of an HTML-based server console, that consolidates
all the main Small Business Server administrative functions in one place.
The Small Business Server Console is also quite flexible and
extensible.
How These Setup Wizards "Obsolete" the More Traditional
Admin Tools
In many ways the Small Business Server 4.5 Console
replaces, or at least greatly lessens the need to use, many of the
"classic" NT Server 4.0 administrative tools.
-
The User Account Wizard and Change Password Wizard
from the Small Business Server Console replace User Manager for
Domains' primary functions. However, User Manager for Domains is still
required for configuring account policies and roaming profiles.
-
Server Manager's primary functions are replaced by the
Shared Folder Access Wizard, Setup Computer Wizard, and Share a Folder
Wizard from the Small Business Server Console.
-
The User Account Wizard and Email Distribution List
Wizard replace Exchange Administrator's primary functions. However,
Exchange Administrator is still required for enabling and managing
public folders.
-
Windows Explorer's primary file-sharing functions are
replaced by the Move Folder Wizard, Shared Folder Access Wizard, User
Access Wizard, and Share a Folder Wizard from the Small Business Server
Console. However, Windows Explorer is still needed to setup file
auditing.
-
The Printer Access Wizard replaces the Printers'
folder primary function for networks. However, the Printers folder is
still needed to configure printer auditing.
